What does Accrue actually do?

Accrue connects to the systems your finance team already uses, such as accounting, banking, billing and spreadsheets. Anyone can ask a question in plain language and get an answer with the source behind every figure. It keeps watch on the numbers you care about, alerts the right person when something moves, and runs routine work like reconciliations and reports, with a person approving anything that matters.

Which tools does Accrue connect to?

Accepted Answer

Accounting platforms, banks and payment providers, billing and CRM systems, data warehouses, and spreadsheets. Every connection starts read-only, so nothing in your systems changes until you allow it, source by source. If a tool you rely on isn't listed, your team can connect it through the REST API and webhooks, or you can request a connector from us. Most connectors take a few minutes to set up and need no engineering time.

How do we know the answers are right?

Every answer shows its working. Each figure links back to the document, row or record it came from, so anyone on the team can open the source and check it. When Accrue isn't sure, it says so rather than guessing. Anything that would change your data is held for a person to approve, and a full history of what was asked and approved is kept.

Is our financial data secure?

Accepted Answer

Accrue is SOC 2 Type II audited and encrypts data in transit and at rest. Access follows the permissions people already have in each connected system, and every action is logged with who ran it and when. Connections are read-only by default, and nothing is written back to your systems until an administrator turns that on for a specific source.

Do we need to replace our current tools?

Accepted Answer

No. Accrue works alongside the systems your team already trusts. It reads from them, answers questions across them, and handles the routine work in between, without a migration project. Your ledger stays your ledger and your spreadsheets stay where they are. If you later want approved changes sent back to a connected tool, you can turn on two-way sync for that source.

How long does it take to get started?

Most teams connect their first source in under five minutes and ask their first question the same day. A typical rollout takes one to two weeks: connect your main systems, set the thresholds and alerts you care about, and choose which routine work to automate first. Larger organisations get a dedicated contact to plan the rollout with them. You can start with a single source and add the rest as your team gets comfortable.
